KUALA LUMPUR 15 Jan. -  The Datai Langkawi informs that it was not affected by the recent fire at the adjacent property, The Andaman. 

 

The resort also confirms that the incident did not result in any injury or harm to guests, team members or the treasured surrounding wildlife and rainforest.

 

"The local fire department, Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Langkawi, managed to contain the incident. 

 

"As a precautionary measure given the environmental conditions, authorities continue to monitor the situation while an official investigation is underway.

 

"With health and safety of guests and team members always the utmost priority, the resort's in-house Emergency Response Team took all immediate precautionary measures and determined actions to protect people, property and the natural surroundings," said The Datai Langkawi in a statement today.

Apart from that, the management of The Datai Langkawi wishes to record its highest appreciation to Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Langkawi as well as authorities and all first responders who worked tirelessly to control the situation.

 

The Datai Langkawi said, particular gratitude goes out to the resort's own Emergency Response Team who fought hard to protect the rainforest around the incident site, to ensure that the fire did not spread any further.

The management also expresses their special appreciation to patrons and friends who have reached out continuously with an outpouring of support and well wishes.
