Theta Edge appoints 2 new female Independent Non-Exec Directors

PETALING JAYA 10 Sept - Theta Edge Berhad announced the appointment of Erma Surianee Malek and Latifah M. Daud as the Independent Non-Executive Directors effective 10 September 2021. 

 

Chairman of Theta Edge Berhad, Dato’ Noordin Sulaiman said, the appointments of Latifah M. Daud and Erma Surianee Malek align with the company's goal of gender and skillset diversity on the Board.

 

''Their skills and experience will help us enhance our governance standards, and together, we can strategically strengthen Theta Edge's position in the industry,” he said in a statement here today.

 

Latifah, 58, is currently the Executive Director, Strategic Human Capital Management at Khazanah Nasional Berhad. She has extensive management consulting and human resources experience gained over a 30-year career in multiple global organisations in high technology sectors.

 

Latifah spent 8 years with Honeywell Inc. in Shanghai where she supported its expansion to high growth regions in Greater China, India and ASEAN. She also led Honeywell’s talent strategy in its Global Technology Solutions operations in Bangalore, Shanghai and Brno, Czech Republic. 

 

Previous to that, Latifah served 13 years at Motorola/Freescale, where she held various positions and was part of a team that saw the successful spinoff of Motorola  semiconductor business. Early on in her career Latifah worked for a consulting firm in Singapore, as well as at Hatibudi Nominees/Renong Group and Arab Malaysian Merchant Bank in Kuala Lumpur.

 

Latifah once taught computer science at Yayasan Pelajaran Mara. She was a Board of Trustee of Yayasan Khazanah and a member of the Industrial Relations Panel at Malaysian Employers Federation. She now sits on the Industry Network Talent Advisory Council, at TalentCorp, Ministry of HR.

 

Erma Surianee, 51, has an extensive 22 years of experience in Management Accounting, Financial Analysis, Material Management, and Project Management in multiple industries. She started her career with Goodyear Malaysia Berhad in 1997 until 2005, where she successfully managed Quality Standard, Sarbanes-Oxley Act and Six Sigma work environment.

 

She was the first female Chairperson of the Consultative Committee for Executive Staff. In 2005, she joined UMW, managing finance and general management of its start-up company.

 

She later joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad in 2007 until 2019 and was involved in Special Projects for Public Market Trading as well as the finance representative for the Lab on Rationalization of Khazanah Yayasan. She also led the Khazanah Graduate Trainee Certified Accountants Program, which resulted in 95% success rate.

 

She was involved in the start-up and auditing of Khazanah Representative Offices overseas and was the Nominee Director for Education and Creative & Media sector companies.

 

She is also known for her community services participation, which includes advising start-up shelters on governance and operating structures, as well as providing  guidance on the accounting record for a humanitarian NGO. - DagangNews.com
