KUALA LUMPUR 13 July - The COVID-19 outbreak cannot possibly stop Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 event and gala night to continue as these will be conducted through live streaming.
The annual beauty pageant will be using the ‘new normal’ platform in the form of e-Gala on the upcoming 5 September at 5pm.
Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation national director, Datin Elaine Daly and Miss Universe Malaysia 2019 Shweta Sekhon jointly announced it through a video posted on Facebook.
They mentioned, the show would be streamed on a site that will be revamped by the organizers with only the finalists and panels are attending physically.
“The public can watch the live-streamed competition by purchasing tickets to the show on the Miss Universe Malaysia website, with 20% of the proceeds to be channeled to charity,” said Daly.
Apart from watching comfortably from home, viewers are entitled to vote on their preferred contestants to be crowned as the next beauty pageant queen.
The votes will have influence in the winning decision.
Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 will see 18 finalists vying for the title of Miss Universe Malaysia 2020.
The winner will represent Malaysia at the Miss Universe competition, receive a cash prize and sponsored prizes with a combined value of RM180,000 along with a full scholarship from HELP University.
This year marks the pageant’s 10th anniversary since it was revamped in 2010. - DagangNews.com
