KUALA LUMPUR 9 Sept. - The winners of the Golden Bull Award 2020 have cited strength, resilience, and decisive action as factors in their success, despite the COVID-19 pandemic wreaking economic havoc across the globe.
Organising Chairman of the Golden Bull Award, Datuk William Ng said, through good planning and decisive action, the leaders of these companies will not only preserve their business but emerge from the crisis stronger and more resilient.
“In normal times, demonstrating strength, growth, and resilience is no mean feat.
“Accomplishing it in the midst of a pandemic is truly a triumph. That is what makes this year’s Golden Bull Award exceptionally meaningful”, said Ng in a statement today.
The 18th running of the Golden Bull Award ceremony was held at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
The Golden Bull Award is an annual event, first organised in 2003 by Business Media International and Sphere Exhibits.
A total of three different categories were open for competition, including Emerging small and medium enterprises (SMEs), Outstanding SMEs, and the coveted Super Golden Bull Award, categorised respectively according to annual turnover.
A total of 785 nominees participated, with 129 enterprises across all three categories claiming the Award.
Also present at the award presentation was Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Datuk Wan Latiff Wan Musa; Chief Executive Officer of TERAJU, Md. Silmi Abd Rahman; Partner of Baker Tilly Malaysia, Datuk Lock Peng Kuan; Director of CTOS Data Systems Sdn. Bhd., Wong Pau Min; National President of the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (SAMENTA), Koay Chiew Guan; Executive Director, Investment Promotion of MIDA, Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja; President of Malaysian Furniture Council, Khoo Yeow Chong and many more.
The official auditor of the Golden Bull Award is Baker Tilly Malaysia, while financial data is provided by CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile, recipient of the Super Golden Bull Award, Yap Ah Tiong said, winning the Golden Bull Award reminds him of all the hard work that he has went through with the fellow team members throughout these 30 years.
