KUALA LUMPUR 14 April - Leading global supplier of technology and services, Bosch today announced the appointment of Klaus Landhaeusser as the company’s new managing director of its businesses in Malaysia.

Landhaeusser said, Malaysia is not new to him as he was stationed in this country for about three and a half years, heading the local sales of original equipment.

“It feels great to be back with a greater responsibility where I can continue to build on the strong network and foundation that Bosch has long established in this country and hopefully take the business to new heights,” said him in a statement today.

Malaysia houses the largest manufacturing facilities for the company in the region, namely three and soon four manufacturing plants.

Besides integrated with connected solutions, each plant has individual research and development (R&D) teams, engineering and developing vehicle electronics, power tools, automotive steering products, and in the pipeline semiconductors for local and worldwide markets.

“The Malaysian government has intensified Industry 4.0 initiatives, which are in line with Bosch’s strength.

“Be it sensors, software or services, Bosch possesses all the key competencies to shape the country’s Industry 4.0. We have been collaborating with the government and local partners through national technical and vocational education and training initiatives to upskill the workforce, driving I4.0 as well as digital transformation.

“I intend to continue these meaningful collaborations with industry partners, supporting the country to stay competitive,” Landhaeusser further noted.

Besides the Malaysian business, Landhaeusser continues to helm the automotive sales of original equipment in Southeast Asia as a regional director.

“Bosch has been developing systems and components for car manufacturers for over a century. Constant R&D presents breakthroughs in e mobility and the benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) are manifold, primarily it is better for the environment due to far lesser carbon emission.

“The awareness and adoption of EVs in Malaysia is currently at its infancy, but once the country embraces and catches up with the global shift, there is a huge potential for Bosch to lend its expertise to grow the country’s e-mobility sector,” he added.

An automotive engineer by profession, Landhaeusser has amassed over 20 years of automotive sales, marketing, government relations and leadership experience at Bosch.

With his extensive knowledge and experience in the automotive industry as well as former responsibility as the regional head of external affairs and government relations at Bosch, Landhaeusser is confident that Bosch will remain committed in the Malaysian market. - DagangNews.com
