DNeX appoints Azlan Zainal Abidin as Group CEO IT & e-Services

KUALA LUMPUR 22 April - Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX) has announced the appointment of Azlan Zainal Abidin as its Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) IT & e-Services with effect from 3 May 2021.

 

In this role, he will be responsible for the overall operations of the Group’s IT business segment, and instrumental in providing leadership and overseeing implementation of the Group’s strategies in the IT business segment. 

 

He will report to Group Managing Director of DNeX, Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir.

 

In a statement today, Syed Zainal said, "We believe the appointment can strengthen our IT business segment and will be a valuable addition to the group’s management team, bringing new depth and experience to help drive its IT business in the years to come.

 

Azlan has over 24 years of working experience in various sectors including IT and telecommunications, and held several key positions at established corporations. 

 

Prior to this appointment, he was Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Celcom Axiata Berhad, Country Managing Partner of IBM Global Services, Managing Director of Accenture Malaysia, General Manager Group IT at Malaysia Airport Holdings Berhad, and Vice President, IT Transformation at Celcom Axiata Berhad.

 

Prior to that, he joined Accenture serving as Global Data Lead for Chevron’s Downstream SAP Implementation (Makati, Philippines), Business Process Advisor for Shell Exploration Global (Rijswijk, Netherlands), SAP Data Solution Lead for Total Myanmar (Yangon, Myanmar) and Finance and Treasury Subject Matter Expert for Shell Nigeria (Lagos, Nigeria).

 

Before his tenure in Accenture, he was attached at Shell Cyberjaya as ERP/SAP e-Banking Team Lead and Shell Oman and Dubai as SAP Financial Consultant. He was Senior Consultant at Pricewaterhouse Coopers before joining Shell Cyberjaya.

 

Azlan holds a Master in Business Administration from Imperial College, United Kingdom and Bachelor of Science, Commerce from University of Virginia, United States of America. - DagangNews.com
